There was great interest in the story last week that St Patrick’s Church is to be reborn as a community Gateway Centre so I thought I would follow up this week with some of the history of this church as related to me by the Reverend John Parkin. I will also look back at the story of the valuable contribution of the Methodists here in Waterford who were previously based in Greyfriars.

The current church is a rubble-built Georgian building and was probably built in the late 17th century to serve the Church of Ireland community.
