A new website, www.tramoretown.ie, has been launched with the aim of spreading the good word about Tramore.
At the Town Council’s December meeting Town Clerk Mr John O’Sullivan said the project was a work-in-progress in that the site would be updated on an ongoing basis, providing information on many aspects of the resort, particularly in relation to the Council, tourism and community matters.
It contains a range of photos, details of the town’s history, as well as news of events and services available, including those at the Civic Offices. There are also pub, hotel and restaurant details and a map of the new one-way traffic system to be introduced on February1 next.
Mr O’Sullivan said the site would be of benefit in terms of seeking out a suitable twin town, in that representatives of prospective locations could be referred to it for information.
Town Manager Mr Brian White paid tribute to the Town Clerk for his work in preparing the site, which he said came on top of an ever-growing list of duties which he performed with diligence and good humour, despite the absence of any extra remuneration. Mr O’Sullivan, for his part, graciously insisted that credit be shared with other staff members.
