Tycor  1; Abbeyside   3

Tycor, who are one of the oldest clubs in Waterford are really struggling at the present time and on Saturday last they suffered their fifth successive defeat in Division 2B. They were hoping to get off the mark on Saturday last against Abbeyside, a team who had won just one of their opening five games.
It was the team from the west who went home happy after collecting the three points on offer. Despite the lowly position of both clubs they served up an exciting encounter on what was a wet and breezy afternoon at Williamstown.
Abbeyside opened up brightly and went close after 12 minutes when defender Alan O’Neill went close with a hard shot from 20 yards.
Tycor got another scare shortly afterwards when Steven McGrath scraped the top of Eoin Kelly’s crossbar with an effort from the edge of the box.
