Friday evening saw Cafe T-Bay at the T-Bay surf club in Tramore host its long awaited opening night together with the launch of the T-Bay ‘Honey and Hunk’ competition in conjunction with the Munster Express.
There was a great turnout to the event, both by members of the club and by customers of the coffee shop, indeed anyone who happened to be passing the beach that evening dropped by and sampled some wine before staying for the music on the deck provided by ‘Springsteens’ members, Tony and Conor.
The competition sees T-Bay give a weekly prize of a surf lesson to any person on the beach they feel captures the essence of beach life and the outdoors. A grand final will take place at the end of the summer where the winners will receive a weekend away to a popular surf destination/holiday resort within Ireland.
The competition is suitable for all age groups but you must be over 18 years to enter and be of a sporting disposition with a wish to keep fit. This is a totally new idea for the Munster Express to promote water sports and the beach as a place for walking and getting out in the fresh air.
The fine weather has attracted larger crowds to Tramore this summer with lots of well turned out people so why not have some craic and enter the spirit of summer and possibly win a free surf lesson. You may be just a walker but still like the beach vibe.
If you are out on the beach this summer and feel you have what it takes to win this competition, drop into T-Bay Surf Centre for more details on surfing. See www.surftbay.com or call the centre on 051-391297. Aloha!
