Nubiq, a Waterford company attached to the TSSG group at the Carriganore Campus of Waterford Institute of Technology, was recently represented on a business delegation to California, USA.

The Waterford based mobile web services company was just one of a group of Irish companies that was pitching their services to a panel of venture capital finance firms in the hub of Silicon Valley. The delegation was called ‘Paddy’s Valley’, according to a weekend report, and the event was arranged by Enterprise Ireland.

A major number of network opportunities were facilitated with people from venture capital companies and Stanford University, the hub of the electronic revolution. The visit was part fact finding and part networking, which is an important element of business today. Helene Haughney represented Nubiq which creates mobile versions of existing web sites or brand new sites.

Silicon Valley is a great area for people with new ideas and experienced venture capital companies, who are well versed in developing technology, get behind these companies and was a great learning experience for the Irish delegation.

A large number of new contacts were developed as a result of the visit. This has also been a good step for the TSSG group in Waterford Institute of Technology and enhances the opportunity further for future contact.
