Less than 24 hours after Saturday’s heroics in Thurles, Wexford Park played host to an altogether more downbeat 70 minutes of hurling which concluded in Waterford’s first win of the new League season.
The weather was cold, the pitch was sticky and the game itself was error-ridden and spoiled by a referee who had an eye on the man of the match prize himself.
