Another essential piece by columnist Eamon Sweeney in the ‘Sindo’ last weekend identified the further social and cultural devastation to be wrought by the Government’s factoring in of mass emigration (45,000 needed next year alone) as a central plank in the laughable national “recovery” plan.
The inevitability of communities and clubs being decimated by the loss of a population pool the size of Cork over the next few years is something that our debased government can clearly live with. Loved ones will just have to live without.
Fear not, for only last week I spotted someone ‘in the know’ who has his eye, if not on the ball, on a board game.
