Waterford Crystal 4; Bohemians 1
Waterford Crystal booked their place in the quarter final of the Ardagh Premier Cup on Saturday afternoon with a facile victory over Bohemians at the Glass Complex.
A few weeks previously they defeated the same side to clinch the Premier League title so the double is still on for the club managed by Davy Walsh and Niall Hogan. They will now play either St Saviour’s or Carrick United in the semi final in Ozier Park (2.30pm) this coming Sunday.
Bohemians were blown away during the opening 45 minutes as Crystal ran riot, just as they did on the evening they won the league title. Paul Wyse put then in front with a header and then Diarmuid Delahunty made it 2-0 when he ran on to a back header from the Bohemians defender Leo Jacques.
Robbie Butler got in on the scoring act when his free kick took a deflection off the Bohemians’ defensive wall and, to make matters even worse for the visitors, Martin Tynan scored from just inside the penalty area before the full-time whistle. Paul Walsh scored a goal for Bohs in the second half but, at that stage, Crystal were already making plans for Sunday’s semi final.
