Waterford Crystal cemented their third position on the league table with a facile victory over Hibernians at the Complex on Sunday last.
However, they had to wait until the 43rd minute to break down a stubborn Hibs side. Paul Quilty won possession of the ball out on the left and when he picked out Liam Coady the midfielder gave goalkeeper Darragh Power no chance with a well-struck left-footed drive.
Goal No 2 arrived on 77 minutes. Joe Watson won possession and when he released Quilty the ball was moved quickly to Niall O’Toole and the substitute who was only on the field for just three minutes found the net from close range.
Quilty sent over a corner kick on 82 minutes which was met by Jason Ryan who got the ball back to Gavin Roche and he found the net with a magnificent overhead kick.
This was a fine display by Crystal. Hibernians on the other hand are slipping down into the wrong end of the standings following a good start to their campaign.
