Kilmacthomas and Ferrybank will have to come back and do it all again another day after playing out an exciting draw in the Eastern Final in Carrickbeg last Saturday afternoon. Kilmacthomas dominated this game for long periods and but for some erratic shooting they would have been home and dry long before the final whistle. In the end, the mid-county side had to rely on a well-taken goal from midfielder Pa Mulhearne to force a replay.

Kilmacthomas came into this game as hot favourites, having enjoyed a comfortable victory over their opponents in the league stage of the Championship. However, Ferrybank were not overawed in any way and were the first to settle. In the 4th minute of the game as mishit free from Daniel Fell was taken by full-forward Colm O’Neill and he fired an unstoppable shot into the top corner of Martin Power’s net.
