Jim and Colm Curran in action for Dungarvan CBS against Coláite Éanna.

Determined Dungarvan CBS, fresh from their recent Munster Final victory over St Paul’s Community School, advanced to this year’s All-Ireland senior colleges ‘B’ hurling decider by virtue of a six-point win over Coláiste Eanna at Templemore on Saturday last.
The vanquished lead at the break 1-5 to 0-5, with the metropolitan side’s goal coming courtesy of a Ciarain O’Shea 10 minutes into the game.
However, the Old Boro boys, who are coached by Peter Power, stayed in touch, mainly due to the unerring striking of Colm Curran from placed balls.
Dungarvan CBS got off the second half off to a dream start when for the second successive game An Rinn clubman Donie Breathnach got a crucial goal. He was at the end of a Cathal Curran delivery and finished by flicking the ball to the net.
A Niall Ryan point quickly had the Dubliners back in front but the Deise representatives responded with a hat-trick of points from Colm Curran and a single effort from Breathnach.
While the capital college continued to exert pressure on their Dungarvan counterparts they were unable to make any major inroads into Dungarvan’s lead.
Breathnach, Luke Eagan as well as the Curran Brothers, Colm and Cathal, all hit points in the final quarter to give the Dungarvan lads a richly deserved win and a place in the All-Ireland final against Ballycastle from Antrim the week after next.
