Premier captain Eoin Kelly: “Tipp have only won eight Munster finals in the last 40 years. There’s 32 years in all that time when we’ve not won it so Sunday in Cork is a massive game for us.”
Tipperary captain Eoin Kelly stumped every reporter in the Horse & Jockey Hotel recently when producing a statistic that underlines just how much Sunday’s Munster Final means to him.
“A lot of us went through hard times with Tipperary, days when we didn’t win,” said the Mullinahone clubman.
“And even going into the Munster final, over the last decade, Waterford have topped the pile in terms of titles won – they’ve won four, we’ve won three and Cork have won three, so if there’s not hunger there among Tipp players and Tipp supporters, I don’t know where it’s going to be.
