Five members of the 2008-09 Waterford senior hurling panels are amongst the 32 players boarding the plane to Buenos Aires Wednesday for the bi-annual Vodafone GAA Hurling All Stars tour.
Eoin Kelly, Waterford’s sole All Star representative from 2008 is joined on the flight from Dublin by this year’s Deise All Star duo John Mullane and Michael Walsh as well as Tony Browne and Eoin McGrath who have been called up as replacements.
In total, eight counties will be represented on the week-long tour. All-conquering Kilkenny manager Brian Cody is in charge of the 2008 team while Tipp boss Liam Sheedy is looking after this year’s.
The highlight for Irish ex-pats in Argentina will be Saturday evening’s exhibition match at the Hurling Club in Hurlingham.
