An Rinn 0-10; Clashmore 0-9

An Rinn retained their senior status for the 2010 championship by virtue of a one-point win over Clashmore at Ardmore on Saturday last.

The game was an even contest throughout with both sides going in at the break level at 0-4 apiece. Pádraig Ó Murchadha pointed twice for An Rinn in the opening eight minutes of the game to give them an early lead. Points from Karl and Killian O’Keeffe as well as Seamus Landers had Clashmore in front by a point with 15 minutes played.

Pádraig Ó Murchadha and Brian O’Halloran exchanged points inside a four-minute spell before Eoin Breathnach pointed for Clashmore with four minutes of the half remaining to leave the sides level at the break.

The second period began with a flurry of scores from both sides. Liam Ó Lionáin pointed for An Rinn just 28 seconds in. Karl O’Keeffe from a free and Cian Ó Conchúir then exchanged points before Brian O’Halloran and Alan Seaward added scores for Clashmore with less than 10 minutes of the second half played.
