Holy Cross National School from Tramore were crowned the Jack Kennedy Memorial Cup champions for the first time ever when they defeated St Declan’s in the lashing rain on Friday on one of the back pitches at the RSC.
Managed by principal John Kindlon, the Villa clubman, the Tramore school came out on top following a seven-goal classic. This was the seventh staging of the final, and perhaps it was the best of the lot. The conditions failed to dampen the spirit of both teams as they produced a truly wonderful 60 minutes of action.
