Passage 3-9 Tallow 1-15
With both teams already through to the quarter-finals, the top spot of the group was the only issue to be decided coming into this game.
The drawn match means Passage won the race to the top, thereby earning a quarter-final tie against Fourmilewater.
This match took a very long time to come to life, but when it did after 19 minutes, Passage scored their first goal.
With Passage leading by a mere 0-2 to 0-1, a long delivery by Aaron Connors into the Tallow defence was fumbled by Shaun O’Sullivan in the Tallow goal, with Eoin Kelly pouncing to kick the ball into the net.
The goal didn’t change the pattern of the game a whole lot and it continued at a near pedestrian pace.
But there were moments when it rose above mediocrity, most notably when Tomás Ryan skinned his marker before firing over and when great link-up play involving Aaron Connors and Brendan Fitzgerald ended with the latter scoring.
