During the past month the Villa have dominated the majority of their games but failed dismally to put away their opponents and as a result they got dragged into the relegation zone.
On Friday night last in Connors Park they fell behind after only six minutes against the current champions Tramore and one felt that they were in for another defeat. But they dug deep and came out on top in brilliant fashion.
All four of their goals had class written all over them, and although he did not score Danny Walsh was involved in each and every one.
This was a very strange performance by a Tramore team who have been firing on all cylinders of late. One up at such an early stage, they should have kicked on but they took their foot off the pedal completely and as a result they got battered by a more determined side.
In fairness, the visitors they did lose their goalkeeper Mark O’Reilly after an hour and he was replaced by the reserve netminder Ian Daly, but the youngster had no chance of saving the three goals that went past him.
The three points gained has moved the Villa up the table and although their next opponents will be Carrick United, they will take great heart from this stunning display.
