Tramore 1; Geraldines (Limerick) 0
Jamie Hunt scored a priceless goal for Tramore in Graun Park on Saturday afternoon to keep the seasiders’ hopes of SFAI Cup success alive.
The in-form Hunt rose high just after the hour mark to win the game for the home side on what was a cold and damp afternoon, but the playing surface was in sublime condition despite the rain that fell for many hours before kick-off.
This game was one of the handful that survived the many postponements that fell foul of the poor weather conditions. Geraldines are one of the famous clubs from Limerick, and they have a wonderful tradition in all cup competitions, both at schoolboy and junior level but on this occasion they came up against a Tramore outfit who have played very few games to date (four in total in the league) due to the ongoing inclement weather and the Shannonsiders could have no complaints about the final outcome.
