Waterford United; 0 Shelbourne 1

Following a home defeat at the hands of Cork City and then an away loss to Longford Town, Waterford United were hoping to get back on track when they played Shelbourne at the RSC on Thursday night last.
The defeat in Longford was hard to take because too many players failed to come up to scratch and as a result manager Stephen Henderson rang the changes for the visit of the Tolka Park Reds. Out went Seamus Long, Shane Barrett, Conor Sinnott and the injured Willie John Kiely. In came Lee Chin, Shane Dempsey, Michael Rafter and David Breen.
