We’re some way off from the presentation of medals in the County Senior Hurling Championship yet, and right now results, as opposed to performances, are essentially all that matter. After all, there’s little to be gained from uprooting trees in May.
So with that in mind, Ballygunner, with Pauric Mahony back at his sharp-shooting best, will have been relieved to put the opening round defeat to Mount Sion behind them following Sunday’s win over Roanmore at Walsh Park.
