Waterford 0-21 Cork 0-16
Waterford retained their Waterford Crystal Cup title after a convincing five-point win over a youthful Cork side in Páirc Uí Rinn on Saturday afternoon last.
On a day when the elements made it extremely difficult for hurling, both sides served up an excellent contest and credit must be given for both sides’ respective efforts.
In the end, it was the greater experience of the Waterford side that proved the difference between the sides as Michael Walsh, Richie Foley and Stephen Molumphy drove the Deise to victory.
Cork played with the very strong breeze in the first half and set about their task with vigour, and were two points up inside two minutes through Conor Lehane and Eoghan Murphy.
