Waterford TD Ciara Conway has welcomed the resignation of Naas Mayor Darren Scully in the wake of comments he made yesterday which she described as ‘disgraceful’.
Deputy Conway, who has a daughter of mixed parentage, responded to comments by Cllr Scully that he would no longer be dealing with queries and cases from those of African origin, describing them as “aggressive”.
Cllr Scully said he intended to pass on such cases to other elected members in the future.
