The largest Supreme Court ‘class action’ lawsuit in the history of the Australian State of Victoria is ongoing at present and a Waterford man is one of the senior lawyers representing victims of the infamous ‘Black Saturday’ bushfires which occurred in February 2007.
Mr Rory Walsh, son of Waterford City Councillor, Davy Walsh and Mrs Betty Walsh (nee Doyle), Marymount, Ferrybank, is a senior associate with Maurice Blackburn Lawyers based in their Melbourne offices.
Rory was educated at Scoil Mhuire Boys School, Ferrybank, Mount Sion Secondary School, WIT and the University of Wolverhampton.  He lectured at WIT for a number of years before moving to Australia
