The John Lewis Christmas advert may have been the talk of social media during the week in the UK but in terms of Christmas launches in Waterford, City Square Shopping Centre is the place to be this Friday.
Adults and children alike will want to be there as the shopping centre hosts an exciting Christmas Launch Event from 5pm to 9pm.
A shopper’s paradise awaits every store in the centre will have offers and discounts. This is a once off opportunity to bag a bargain before the Christmas shopping rush begins.
However that is not all, Santa himself will drop in to check on the children of Waterford and to turn on the Christmas lights.
At 7pm, Santa will arrive at the Peter Street entrance with Mrs Claus and he will turn on the light at 7.30pm. There will be live music on The Mall from 6pm to 9pm.
Earlier in the day WLRfm will broadcast live from the centre between 3 and 6pm with Teresanne O’Reilly at the desk in preparation for the launch night ahead.
It’s not just the stores offering discounts as parking is just €2 for 3 hours from 5pm.
Said Centre Manager Alan Weston: “our Christmas launch events have become very popular, last year was brilliant with hundreds arriving to help Santa turn on the lights. Some stores will even have their offers on throughout the day and not just from 5 to 9pm.”
Details of the actual store offers will be published on the City Square website and Facebook page on Thursday.
Santa will return to City Square on Saturday, November 26th where he will have a grotto at the top of the escalator beside Kylemore.
