One of County Waterford’s most striking country houses is in the midst of a refurbishment which will not only secure its future but see it provide the Portlaw area with a welcome employment boost.
Woodlock House, which had been home to the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Cluny, which also incorporated a nursing home for several years, will soon be home to the electronic/internet publishing company owned by Bonner & Partners Family Office Ltd.
The company, which is currently based in Ballytruckle, will become the largest single employer in Portlaw following its relocation and it’s believed that new jobs will be generated once the doors of Woodlock are re-opened.
“That a use has been found for this historic building is welcome,” said Minister of State and local resident Paudie Coffey. “That it’s going to be put to commercial use and is going to establish a new business in Portlaw, is another good news story for the town.”
