A NOTORIOUS Waterford mystery which has baffled the county and the nation for more than 80 years may be a step closer to being solved. An extensive search using radar and specialised magnetic machinery took place in Stradbally at the weekend for the remains of Kilmacthomas postman Larry Griffin who disappeared on Christmas Day 1929.
On Saturday, a survey of a road at Ballyvoile was carried out using ground penetrating radar (GPR) and a magnetometer.
