Waterford Spraoi has launched it’s first ever calendar, marking eighteen years of the company’s wonderful productions in the city.
All funds raised from ‘Spraoi Born and Bred – 2010’, which was launched on Monday morning, will support next year’s festival on the August Bank Holiday weekend.
Spraoi was launched in 1993 and the new calendar, on sale throughout the city at €5, records parades through Waterford’s streets during the intervening years. “It’s a great collection of familiar faces and places in Waterford as the city celebrates its creativity on the streets,” according to Programme Director Miriam Dunne.
The calendar is being launched in time for the Christmas market and organisers hope it will prove to be a popular stocking-filler for all ages, with particular appeal as a gift for Waterford people living away from home. “There are a lot of images that will remind people of Spraoi and Waterford and we hope it will prove popular with people. It is certainly an authentic Waterford Christmas gift,” Ms Dunne added.
Spraoi’s ‘Born and Bred’ calendar for 2010 was produced with the support of Waterford City Enterprise board and local sponsors, including The Munster Express. It was designed by B2B Communications and will be on sale at The Book Centre, local shops and hotels, priced €5. For further information see www.spraoi.com or call 051-841808.
