Katherine Drohan from Abbey Close in Ferrybank will produce this year’s Late late Toy Show.

The Late Late Toy Show is an iconic annual event that practically every family in the country looks forward to and this year it will be produced by a young Ferrybank woman who has carved out a significant role in television production over the last ten years.
Katherine Drohan, daughter of Frank and the late Kay (nee Doyle, Rockenham) grew up in Abbey Close before moving to Dublin after she graduated from UCC.
Katherine first worked for ‘Hot Press’ magazine before moving into independent television production and played a large part in the success of the ‘Podge and Rodge’ and ‘Dragons’ Den’ series of programmes.
She moved to RTE where she worked on ‘The Miriam O’Callaghan Show’ and ‘Tubridy Tonight’ before being assigned to the Late Late Show where she spent four years as a researcher. Katherine then won a place on RTE’s producer training programme and this year she was trusted with the important position of producing the Toy Show that goes out live on RTE 1 on November 27th.
A busy lady, she and her graphic designer husband, Scott Burnett, have been really on the go, especially since they welcomed their 12-month-old twins, Penny and Kate, into the world.
Katherine’s father, Frank, still resides at Abbey Close in Ferrybank while her brother, Tom, is manager of The Cove Bar on the Dunmore Road. Her other brother, Brian, is an executive director with an Irish construction company in Nigeria.
Katherine sends her regards to all her friends and family in Ferrybank and Waterford who will, no doubt, be among the 1.4 million viewers watching the show.
