As all third level institutions across the country have now entered into the first semester of the new academic year, students are adapting to another important year of study.
In these uncertain times, any student who is enrolled in a third level course should regard themselves as extremely lucky.
And, whether a first or fourth year, their chosen approach in order to capitalise on their education should be the same.
For first years, the new semester signals the big break-away from home, with the apron strings finally somewhat severed.
The initial euphoria of this new found freedom can have disastrous consequences however, as once diligent, hard working students can find themselves preoccupied with the alternative experiences which college life offers.
While many students may have excelled in secondary school, their performance can deplete dramatically if not sufficiently focused on their studies from the beginning when they enter third level.
