Surely, at least some cycling enthusiasts in this country are eyeing with interest the world record for speed on a pushbike that was achieved last week by a French cyclist.
Surpassing even Sean Kelly riding downhill, Francois Gissy (32) reached 207 mph on a rally circuit.
He actually pedaled his trusty onto the track but, once on the starting line, he turned on a home-made rocket attached to a compressed air tank. Just under five seconds and 250 metres from the starting line, Francois surpassed the previous record.
He intends to go even faster but does admit that to fall off his bike at such speed could cause serious injury.
