Villa advance inMunster Junior Cup
Villa eased into in the last 16 of the Lucozade Sport Munster Junior Cup when they defeated Cork AUL side Grangevale at Connors Park on Sunday afternoon.
They were always in control of the tie and went in front early in the first half when Paul Omoteso was on hand to tap home from close range after an Ian Cantwell effort from distance had come crashing back off the crossbar.
It got even better for Villa before the break when David Murphy netted their second after he got on the end of a great right-wing Des Mullett cross. Paul Power completed the scoring late on when he finished superbly after a Nicky Corcoran pass.
Villa will have home advantage in their last 16 tie when they face either St Michael’s or Blackcastle.
