Waterford’s First Responder’s Group has shared that one of their collection boxes was recently stolen from a location in the city.

The First Responders are a not-for-profit volunteer organisation that rely completely on donations from collection boxes around Waterford to keep their service running. They are urging the public to be on the lookout for anyone approaching them to ask for donations.

In a post online, a spokesperson for the Waterford First Responders said that the collection box was recently taken from the Post Office at the Hypermarket in Waterford city.

The box is yellow, with ‘Waterford First Responders Group’ written on the front, and also has their lego.

The post read: “It has come to our attention that one of our collection boxes has been stolen from the post office in the hypermarket…These boxes are placed in some shops around the town so if anyone is approached on the streets or door to door with anyone collecting on our behalf, please be aware it is not one of our responders.”

Anyone with information on the missing collection box is asked to contact Waterford Garda Station on 051 – 305300.
