egridEirGrid has extended its public consultation period regarding the GridLink Project to January 7th, having initially stated that the feedback phase would conclude yesterday (Tuesday).
News that the deadline has been extended has been widely welcomed by local politicians. However the Comeraghs Against Pylons (CAP) group remained somewhat underwhelmed by the development.
“This is little more than a cynical attempt by EirGrid to appease the community on the eve of the original deadline – another PR stunt,” according to CAP’s Facebook page.
“They should have done this three weeks ago when asked to (extend it), not on the eve of November 26th – who do they think they are fooling?”
According to GridLink Project Manager John Lowry: “We are extending this third consultation period so that interested parties have plenty of time to have their say in relation to this vital project.” See this weeks paper for more on the story.
