Result of the week in the west must go to Ballyduff who beat Sliabh gCua in the first round of the Intermediate football championship on a comprehensive 5-15 to 0-4 scoreline.
Ballyduff are up in intermediate this year after winning the junior championship last year and going on this result they will be a match for most teams in the competition.
Elsewhere in the Intermediate grade, Ballinameela had a 2-8 to 1-6 win over Colligan.
In the Junior Football Premier championship Tallow recorded a 1-6 to 0-8 win over next door neighbours Shamrocks, Kilgobinet proved too strong for Modeligo winning 4-13 to 1-8, and Affane had a handy victory over their neighbours on either side, winning 1-12 to 0-5 against Melleray/Ballinwillan.
In the Junior Football Championship for second string senior clubs Kilrossanty had a 2-12 to 1-1 win over Brickeys and Ballinacourty were too strong for Clashmore winning 4-14 to 1-8.
In the intermediate football second string competition Dungarvan beat Colligan 1-9 to 1-7.
