County and Munster champions De La Salle are safely through to the semi-finals of the senior hurling championship after a three-point win over Passage at Walsh Park last Saturday.

In truth, the scoreline probably flatters Passage slightly as a goal deep in injury time. Having said that, Passage did have a couple of goal chances that if converted may have made the champions sweat a bit more in the last quarter.

Passage played against the wind in the first half, but still managed to start brightly enough with Eoin Kelly and Owen Connors both converting frees in the opening four minutes.

De La Salle eventually opened their account in the seventh minute when the impressive Jake Dillon scored a great point from wide on the left hand side, before they drew level through a John Mullane point.
