A legal action by ten former workers at Waterford Crystal against the State for failing to protect their pensions in an insolvency situation began at the Commercial High Court in Dublin on Tuesday and, on Thursday, it was referred to the European Court which means it could take another year before the matter is settled.
The 10 bringing the case against the State are representative of a larger group of former Crystal workers.
