A Dungarvan native has been returned for trial charged with a murder in the kitchen of Cork Prison last year.
Thirty-one year-old Brian Veale, with an address at Dominic Street, Cork city, was charged with the murder of Graham Johnson, who died after being stabbed in the chest during a row in the prison kitchen last May. A Book of Evidence in the case has been served to Mr Veale, who has been remanded in custody and granted free legal aid.
Mr Johnson (41) was nearing the end of a prison sentence after he was given a five-year-term with one year suspended in 2011 for robbery and larceny offences.
