The absence of a pedestrian crossing at the junction of Lower Grange and St John’s Park is causing elderly people to have to skip across the road between traffic, Cllr Gary Wyse claimed at Monday night’s meeting of Waterford City Council.
Calling for the crossing to be put in place, he said school children were also at risk, as well as customers on their way to and from two shops nearby.
Cllr Wyse, whose proposal was seconded by Cllr Mary Roche and passed unanimously, said there had been two accidents there in recent weeks.
Cllr Seamus Ryan also asked that the lower road at St John’s Park be examined for the same purpose
