The HSE has confirmed a significant number of Consultant appointments to boost services being delivered at Waterford Regional Hospital.

Developments in the filling of seven new posts and the recruitment of replacements on a permanent basis for six more positions in 2010 are in addition to six new Consultant roles and five replacements being filled last year.

Richard Dooley, the HSE South’s Network Manager for the Hospital Group South East, Ms Patricia Sullivan, General Manager, Waterford Regional Hospital, and Dr Rob Landers, Clinical Director, Waterford Regional Hospital, have all welcomed the news.

A spokesperson for the HSE said the appointments were intended to support and enhance existing services and to develop additional clinical services in line with WRH’s role as a Regional Hospital and one of the eight designated cancer Centres.
