Ballygunner 5-23; Dungarvan 0-15

Last year’s defeated County finalists Ballygunner produced a massive statement of Championship intent when demolishing a youthful Dungarvan by 23 points at Carriganore.

They were in control from the off, with JJ Hutchinson grabbing the first of his three opening half goals, capitalising on Trevor Galvin’s mistake after misjudging a Stephen O’Keeffe delivery.

Despite some excellent work in their forward line by the industrious Gavin Crotty and the free-taking of Cormac Curran, Dungarvan simply couldn’t live with the red-hot Gunners.
