Johnville 5; Waterford Crystal 1

Johnville got off to their best start in the Premier League for many years when they hammered Waterford Crystal in St Martin’s Park.

Crystal on the other hand created some sort of recorded that they will not want to remember for some time to come. They had defender Paul Wyse red cared inside the opening minute when he hacked down Gavin McLawrence inside the penalty area and to make matters worse Gavin Phelan tucked home the penalty kick.

Kristian Walsh then made it 2-0 after 10 minutes when he chipped the ball over the goalkeeper from the edge of the 18-yard box.

McLawrence then scored a real beauty with an angled strike after Walsh had done all of the hard work. Walsh made if 4-0 ten minutes into the second half before Keith Sheridan netted from the penalty spot for the visitors.

Johnville were not finished however and James Fatumsa scored their 5th goal in the latter stages and things went completely pear-shaped for Crystal two minutes from full-time when Conor Fell was sent off.
