Monaghan United  3; Waterford United  1
Despite opening the scoring after only 20 seconds of play, Waterford United lost once again to Monaghan United on Friday last in Gortakeegan. This was the eighth defeat in a row against the border club, and that record has gone beyond a joke at this stage. To make matters worse Adam McSherry was taken off with a bad hip injury following a poor tackle, and the former Carrick United player must be rated doubtful for this weekends FAI Cup game against St Patrick’s Athletic.
