On Sunday last in excellent conditions the Munster Cross Country fixture in St Augustine’s College Grounds, Abbeyside had a very big entry from all over the province. In the Juvenile (B) Championships there were three winners from Waterford, two inter-club victories also and a number of other good performances.
Hugo Blair, Waterford AC in the under-11 race and his victory was decisive and clear cut. His clubmate Alan Slattery in the under-17 won very impressively, as did Kylie Heiden, KCK, under-9.
In second place in the u11 race was Thomas Ahearne, An Ghaeltacht, while Richard Lucas, Waterford was again second u17 while Ethan Flynn and Garvan Blair, both from Waterford AC, were third and fourth respectively in the under-9 race. Aileen Veale, An Ghaeltacht, was also fourth u11.
