Drivers unable to pay tolls on the new Waterford Bypass Bridge were refused permission to cross over the River Suir and were directed back against the flow of traffic, Waterford County Councillors heard on Monday.
Cllr Pat Nugent (FG) said the driver of a car who was unable to pay the toll of €1.80 at the collection point was “turned back” last week.
Too right. Sure if they were left pass for free everyone would do it. Why would you go that route and try to cross a toll bridge with no money??
Disgraceful, money before safety, this company should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law!
