Initially thinking it was an April Fool, I was alerted to a recent polemic from ‘Phoenix’ in the Waterford News & Star which saw him all a flutter over countless perceived injustices perpetrated against the city, and then take a few swipes this way.
Presumably referring to this column’s suggestion a couple of weeks back that an upgrading of Fraher Field be considered instead of renting out Nowlan Park – which remains a possibility – the anonymous one got all in a flap, declaring that “to find an example of how to really hurt Waterford city we need look no further than the local GAA”, whose “attempts to ruin Walsh Park are without parallel.”
