Ciara Giles Doran: 200m silver
Last weekend a number of athletes from Ferrybank AC competed in the British Under-17 and U20 indoor championships in Birmingham and their stand-out performer was Ciara Giles Doran. She had a fine run in the 200 metres u17 final to take the silver medal in a very good time of 24.50 seconds, and was fourth in the Long Jump final with a distance of 5.45 metres.
Fifth placings were achieved by Sorcha Murphy in the High Jump with 1.60 metres (the same height as the bronze medal winner) and Ann O’Shea in the 60 metres u17.
Nicola Power was 6th in the Long Jump u20 with 5.67 metres, and Megan Kiely was 7th in the 300 metres u17.
