Cathal Curran of Dungarvan CBS in action against Abbey CBS in last Wednesday's Munster Colleges SHC 'B' game in Cahir.

Dungarvan CBS 3-13 Abbey CBS (Tipperary) 2-4

Dungarvan CBS advanced to a Munster ‘B’ Senior Hurling Colleges semi-final meeting with Glanmire Community School on Wednesday having defeated Abbey CBS at the second time of asking last Wednesday in Cahir.
Colm Curran opened the scoring in a very tight opening half when he pointed from a free with just a minute of the game played.
Two further Dungarvan points followed before the Tipperary side opened their account courtesy of a Cathal Martin point.
The remainder of the opening half remained very tit-for-tat with both sides adding to their earlier scores and the side from the Old Boro went in at the break leading 0-6 to 0-4.
The opening moments of second half began with Dungarvan, as they did in the opening half, clearly the better side, but they were unable to put daylight between themselves and their opponents.
However, seven minutes into the second period, they did just that when Luke Egan put the ball past Donough Leahy for a goal that was only awarded after the intervention of referee Mike O’Connor.
In a bid to strengthen their side the Abbey selectors injected some new blood into the side during the course of the second half but it was to be a pointless exercise.
Dungarvan, despite not playing up to the standard that they are capable of in the opening half proved too strong for and goals struck in quick succession from Luke Egan and Cathal Curran sealed a good win for Dungarvan.
Abbey CBS put some respectability on the scoreboard very late on with goals from Fintan Ryan and Liam O’Dea but didn’t in any way take from what was a relatively easy win for Dungarvan.
