In a relatively short period of time, the popular annual Kill Charity Long Puck competition has grown into one of the biggest events of its kind in the entire country.

The 2008 edition scheduled for decision over its picturesque course surrounding the East Waterford village takes place this Saturday afternoon, commencing at 12noon.

This is the seventh annual running of the event, and well in excess of €30,000 has been raised in previous years to assist worthy local charities.

This year’s beneficiaries will be MS (Ireland) and the host club have expressed profound thanks in welcoming Genzyme on board as sponsors.

Apart from a host of county players from Waterford and the adjoining counties, clubs are well represented in the list of competitors already entered for the event.

There is still time for teams of three to come under starter’s orders. Last year over 400 competitors competed, and the indications already are that that figure will be surpassed this time round. Best of luck to all competitors!
