Despite a marvellous late surge, Waterford couldn’t make up the ground they ceded to Clare in the opening 40 minutes of the Munster Minor Hurling Final on Sunday last.

The Banner came into this team as All-Ireland favourites and they proved full value for that tag with a performance that was full of free-flowing hurling. But credit to Liam O’Connor’s Waterford side, who kept plugging away even when matters weren’t going their way.
