This repeatedly postponed Munster Cup game at Abbeylands on Wednesday night last promised a lot, but produced one of the most one sided games played to date this season.
It took a while for both sides a little while to get back into the thick of the action following weeks of snow and rain, with the first real opportunity falling to Villa winger Jimmy Barry on 19 minutes who shot wide.
Ferrybank stand-in goalkeeper Greg Murphy came to his side’s rescue with that outstanding save from Barry after he latched onto a pass from McDonald, who had skipped past three challenges, but the netminder stood tall to produce a top class save with his feet.
